Description
This program contemplates the summit of the main peaks of the massif Gran Paradiso, the most important of the Italian Alps. The Gran Paradiso summit, right on top of Aosta valley, will offer us privileged views of the massif as well as other valleys that surround it: the valley di Orco, the Cogne valley or the same Valseveranche, from where we will access.
Schedule
Day 1: Approximation to the Chabot hut at 2.750 m. 3 hr from the parking lot of Pont.
Day 2: Visit de bivouac of Saberna at 3.440 m, from where we will have great views of the whole massif as well as the South face of Mont Blanc. It can be combined with the summit of Punta Money and Herbetet (D+)
Day 3: Ascend to Gran Paradiso, central peak of the massif of same name 4.061 m. Descend to the Vittorio Emmanuelle hut at 2.732 m. 8hr and 1.400m elevation gain (meg)
Day 4: Ascend to Ciarforon of 3.642 m and return to the valley. 6-7hr, 900 meg, 1.400 m elevation loss
Day 5: Day reserved to any meteorological twist or any unexpected event.
